报告摘要：Periodic functions are important objects in classical Fourier analysis. From algebraic point of view, it is about representations of compact abelian groups. The Langlands program is the modern theory of automorphic forms, which uses representation-theoretic method to study periodic functions whose periods generate a discrete non-abelian group. In this talk,we will explain the basic notions and the basic problems in the Langlands program.
报告人简介：江迪华, 美国明尼苏达大学教授,国际权威代数杂志编委。斯隆研究奖获得者，曾两度成为美国普林斯顿高级研究院访问研究员。他的研究领域为自守表示理论和langlands 纲领。“自守表示理论和langlands 纲领”是当代数学中的最核心的领域之一，对分析、代数、数论、几何、数学物理等数学分支中都有着深刻的影响。 他在这方面做了很多重要工作, 他的研究成果曾在国际顶尖数学杂志:< < annalas of mathematics>>,< < journal of american mathematical society>>, < < invention mathematics>>, < <Memoirs of the American Mathematical Society>>上发表.
