On December 15, the delegation of Cardiff University composed of Professor Tim Philips, dean of the School of Mathematics, and Dr Maggie Chen, Director of International, visited XMU school of Mathematical Sciences (SMS). On behalf of the school, vice dean, Professor Chuanju XU received the visit. Present at the event were faculty members from SMS.

Professor Xu extended his warm welcome to the delegation. Both sides gave brief introductions to their schools, and expressed common interest in the development of partnerships. Faculty level research collaboration by hosting workshops, joint supervision of PhD students, dual award MSc programs and formulation of a MoU for the exchange of undergraduate students were proposed. Mutual understanding has been reached.
